Thoughts of a Princess

I am not really a princess...I only like to think I am. I am just a regular working girl who constantly lives in a fantasy world!

Degrassi

Apparently this show is all the rage in Canada. And it comes on the N here (which I don't get) so now that I am getting netflix, then I decided to check out what all the fuss was about...well let me tell you...the fuss was not neccessary.

Degrassi is supposed to be this great, drama-filled, controverisal show that puts the OC and Dawson's Creek to shame. But it is not...It is controversial...almost to the point of excess. A girl dresses like a hooker in the 8th grade and no one says anything. The same girl gets falling down drunk in the bathroom at a school dance and then goes home for her mom to fix her hot chocolate. And all of this is in the 80's. Some of this we would find blaze in today's world, but this was early 80's. It is like an afterschool special without the great lesson in the end. Two girls decided they want to try drugs just because and then easily get some!

The next generation is somewhat better. The characters are at least a tad more believable...only a tad though. The controversy is still there, but just not as much. But there is still not a whole lot of story arches. It is essientially a 30 minute drama. Not near enough time to get to know the characters...

So I give Degrassi: 3

Save Everwood

I am really scared. Really. When Joan of Acardia got canceled I was sad. Roswell was so bad it's last season that I really didn't care when it got the can. But Everwood...Everwood...oh Everwood. I have just discovered it...well last year...and how wonderful it has been this year. Now that the new CW is coming to TV all of the shows have to merge. UPN has like three good shows...take those, shove off 7th Heaven and the entire Friday night lineup and you have a wonderful network...but...no one is talking about Everwood. They are optimsitc about GG, VM, Smallville, and others...but no Everwood. IT MUST BE SAVED! Can't we start a campaign...remember the hot sauce bottles that we did for Roswell...ban together...start sending...I don't know sheet music...cause Ephram is a piano player...or something doctory like a tongue depresser because Andy and Harold are doctors IT MUST BE SAVED!

Not only do I have to worry about it getting canceled, but apparently the show is going to put it's audience through the ringer when it returns. A death of a major character (For some reason I think it is going to be Bright or Amy or Harold...if they touch my Bright and Hannah I will die) and speaking of my favorite couple...trouble ahead for them as well. Someone leaves, etc...rollercoaster ride of Everwood...but atleast if it is canceled it will go out with a bang...
