Thoughts of a Princess

I am not really a princess...I only like to think I am. I am just a regular working girl who constantly lives in a fantasy world!

Gilmore Girls Pt 2

It is amazing how I can hate and love a show so much all at the same time...but Gilmore Girls is doing it. It is so hard to watch, but it is sooo good! Rory and Lorelai need to reconcile stat!

Best Show on TV Pt. 2

Ok, so I know that I said that Everwood was the best show on TV, but it is tied with Grey Anatomy. I can't choose. Grey's Anatomy has seriously become my favorite show. I knew it was going to be good, but just not this good. It is so good that I can't even find the word to talk about it. Moments of pure emotion and laughter and heartbreak. It is a good show with a great cast that turned into an amazing show with an even more amazing cast. It didn't surprise me that it was good. It surprise med that it was THAT good. Here is why I love this show

1. George-Dr. McWho? George has seriously become the new heartthrob on this show. He has this instant charm about him and after performing surgery in an elevator shaft, he had this confident air about him that made him even more sexy. He is like this great constant presence of this show that makes this show what it is. And he is not the only one. Every character on this show is unique. You can't do without one single character on that show. They all contribute equally to the show.

2. Dr. McDreamy-I love that nickname and the fact that everyone from the characters to the critics call him that. And hello how we not love Patrick Dempsey? I loved him when he was in Can't Buy Me Love and i love him now. He grew up good. Can you believe that he was a nerd? Really, the years have been good to him. And this was not his comeback. Scream 3 was one of the first things he did as a grown actor and he was amazing in it. Even if he is Dr. McDreamy I am taking to calling him Dr. McStinky because he is not only McMarried, but he also treated Meredith like crap. He chose his stinky cheating wife. But as much as I want to hate him I can't. I can understand his decision. And when he cried in the elevator with Dr. Bailey...he instantly became my favorite person again (after George of course). I had already been crying and then it was so unexpected to see Dr. Shephard cry that it made me cry again and harder this time.

3. Alex and Izzie-Somewhere a Roswell writer is laughing at this paring. Katherine Heigal is so amazing. I love her in everything she does. And the fact that her name is Isabel on this show as well makes it that much funnier. And she is dating Alex! And Alex has become the best new complex character ever. Seeing him get his mojo back was the best! And giving to Cristina was pretty good too...even if I did feel sorry for her.

4. The Train Wreck Episode-It sounds like one of those typical ER type episodes that is mass choas and everyone is running around and you can't figure out what is going on but you know it is bad. But this wasn't that. It was slower and funnier. And it really made you care about the people they were working on. Meredith turning into a vapid narcessist when she is drunk was so funny and so fitting. It helped keep the show light. And for a show about a hospital this show is surprisingly light and fun. And it has heart.

5. The music-Tegan and Sara, The Ditty Bops and a slew of other artists that I might have never heard if it hadn't have been for Grey's Anatomy. The music is sooo me!

Best Show on TV Pt. 1

Everwood. Why oh why did I not discover this show sooner. I loved it last year. It was sooo good. But it was sort of quietly good. And now that it is having to compete with the crowded Thursday Night line up, Everwood has had to show itself a little more. Here are my top reasons why this show is the best on tv

1. Bright and Hannah-Bright has always been one of my favorite characters. He is sort of the classic screw up with heart. And now that he is dating Hannah he has gotten even more complex. This is his first real relationship with a real girl. It is so funny to watch Bright learn and grow as a person when he is with Hannah. He has learned so much about people and relationships. And he is real. I hated him for it, but it was logical to think that he might break up with Hannah after finding out that she didn't want to have sex until they were married. Look at his past...but the scene where he was looking in the window at Hannah playing with Sam was so sweet and so real. You could actually see what he was thinking and see him growing. And speaking of Hannah...how awesome is she? Can you believe she has only been on the show a year? See this is what I am talking about-taking new characters and making them so good and intergrating them into the plot so much that we sort of forget that they are a new character. I could not imagine this show without her.

2. Reid-Another new character. He has only been on a few episodes, but his good nature and his quirkiness makes him a perfect Everwood resident. And his sweet kiss with Amy? So sweet. I know Ephram and Amy are supposed to be the super couple or whatever, but I really think that they are way to angsty for my taste. I still want Ephram with Madison.

3. Scott Wolf-What I thought a year ago was stunt casting has turned out to be one of the best characters on the show. Scott has really made his comeback. And his scene with Edna telling her off was soo great. Such a well acted and well done scene. We always want to take up and take Edna's side since she is a long time Everwood resident, but Scott Wolf (I still can't remember his character's name) made such a convincing arguement for learning new things. It was great.

4. Delia-the little Dakhota Fanning in training...we want more Delia!

5. Rose and Dr. Abbott-the sweetest couple on tv today. Harold continuely amazes me with his complexity in dealing with Rose's cancer. Their relationship is real and complex but in the end they are always there for each other...just like a real couple. So great.

One Tree Hill vs. Dawson's Creek

Let's face it. Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, and the OC are essentially the same show. Really..most shows now days are just copies of Dawson's Creek. I can name 4 right now. But OTH and the OC are the worst. I love both of the shows. They each have their own unique things. And even if it was exactly like DC, I would still love it because when I like something I like a lot of it.

So what made Dawson's Creek so good and the others just ok. The characters? The actors? The story? All three thrown in with great chemistry. Just look at this one little area. Bringing in new characters. Dawson brought in brother and sister Andie and Jack McPhee. At the time we thought nothing of them bringing in new characters. We had faith that they would be good. And they were. Jack and Andie were two of the most beloved character and lasted the rest of the series. Andie may have left the show, but not our hearts. She even came back in the finale (she was cut out). And Jack and Jen were like our Will and Grace. Their cute and fun banter..We loved them! They were great characters.

So what happened when One Tree Hill brought in Felix and Anna. Same concept. Brother and sister...one of them was even gay (the twist: it was the girl) but yet they didn't last one season. the OC tried the same thing but with four new characters and not a one stuck. They were all boring, sterotypical and had no connection with the audience.

What did Dawson's Creek have that these shows don't. Heart. Magic. Chemistry. Great actors that brought great, well written characters to life. Dawson's Creek has that going for it. It may have been stupid at time and may have been made fun of for being so angsty and melodramatic, but comparing it to the stuff that is on the air now trying to be Dawson's Creek, Dawson's Creek looks like the best show on TV. And it was. I don't think anyone gives it enough credit for how good it was. Everyone remembers that stupid theme song and stupid moony Dawson Leary. And now of course Katie Holmes. But looking back on it Dawson's Creek was definitely one of the best shows on tv...ever.
